In the heart of south-western Sardinia, nestled amongst Mediterranean scrub and wild landscapes, stands Torre Cannai, one of Sardinia’s most fascinating coastal towers. Whether you’re in the vicinity of Palma de Sols or exploring the island of Sant’Antioco, this is a must-visit destination. 🌿🌊

📍 Where is it?
Torre Cannai is located in the village of Turri, in the southern part of the island of Sant’Antioco. It can be reached by car via a short scenic detour that is a treat in itself.

🧭 Why visit it?
Built in the 18th century to defend the coast against Barbary pirate raids, Torre Cannai overlooks one of the island’s most spectacular stretches, with views of Isola della Vacca and the turquoise sea. Its strategic and secluded location makes it the perfect spot for those who love:
nature photography
sunset walks
moments of silence and contemplation
military history and the charm of ancient fortifications
During the summer, guided tours or small cultural events are sometimes organised, allowing you to climb the tower and admire the view from a unique vantage point.
🌅 Local council:
Come along in the late afternoon, when the sun begins to set and bathes the tower and the sea in warm, golden hues. Bring a bottle of water, a towel and… enjoy the view.
👉 Whether you’re looking for history, nature or simply a quiet spot away from the crowds, Torre Cannai awaits you with all its grandeur and the untamed beauty of southern Sardinia.
